A Shower Of Blessings

Today, I took part in the National Day of Prayer. I was honored to be asked to emcee the festivities taking place here in Horry County.

The original location for the event was in front of the Courthouse in Historic Downtown Conway, but the rains came. It has been incredibly dry so far this Spring, so we welcomed the rain even though we had to move the ceremony indoors.

Christ Commmunity Church in Conway served as the backup location and what a great time we had stressing the importance of prayer in our daily lives. Among those attending and taking part in the ceremony were Coastal Carolina University Head Football Coach David Bennett and the Honorable Mayor of Conway Greg Martin.

Prayer is a wonderful thing. It's a powerful thing. It's what keeps me connected and on track in my own spiritual walk. I have openly spoken about my belief in Jesus Christ. After all of the blessings I have received, I could never shy away from any opportunity presented to me to glorify God.

Again, thanks for all those responsible in making the National Day of Prayer a success locally. I was fortunate to be a part of it.
